Amie The Doula

“Whenever and however you give birth, your experience will impact your emotions, your mind, your body, and your spirit for the rest of your life.”
-Ina May Gaskin

Hello! I am so glad you’re here! My name is Amie Lee and I am a CAPPA Certified Labor Doula.  I live in the Des Moines Area with my husband and three children. After having my third child my passion for pregnancy and childbirth grew and I had a desire to be a support for mothers in such a special and sometimes overwhelming time in their life. I believe that having the knowledge to make informed choices in birth will empower you and help you become an advocate for your birth.

As your doula, I would be honored to come beside you to support you, uplift you, encourage you, walk with you, breath with you, and constantly remind you that you are strong!

My goal is to support you in your moments of weakness and your moments of strength, and I will serve you with an open heart. My goal for my clients is for them to be able to look back on their birth experience and feel like they were well cared for no matter how their labor and birth played out.

What is a Doula?

The word “doula” comes from the ancient Greek word meaning, “a woman who serves” and is now referred to a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional, and educational support for the mother during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.
